European cash markets finished mixed: the Euro Stoxx 50 closed up 0.1 percent, the DAX closed up 0.02 percent, the CAC 40 closed up 0.2 percent and the FTSE 100 closed down 0.29 percent. UK volume leaders were Lloyds Banking Group down 1.55 percent, Barclays down 1.23 percent, BP down 0.11 percent, HSBC down 1.59 percent and Shell up 0.62 percent. continental European volume leaders were UBS down 3.4 percent, Deutsche Telekom down 0.66 percent, Novartis up 0.28 percent, SAP down 0.3 percent and Nestle down 0.01 percent.
