The European Central Bank and EU central banks want mandatory bank-deposit thresholds for stablecoin reserves to be replaced with new liquidity requirements, saying large stablecoin deposits could pose liquidity risks for banks. The European System of Central Banks called for removing the current approach in the MiCA framework and substituting it with rules focused on liquidity.
