UK CBI survey shows order books improve while output falls

The CBI Industrial Trends Survey reported total order books at a weighted balance of -9%, up from -25% in August. The reading was the strongest since July 2023 and better than the long-run average of -14%. Output volumes fell (details truncated in source).
