UK's Smiths Group rises after beating annual profit forecasts

British engineering firm Smiths Group shares rose 3.9% to 2,691p. The company reported FY adjusted operating profit of £399 million ($533.38 million), beating company-compiled analyst consensus of £388 million by about 2.8%. Year-to-date, the stock is up 10.1%.
