Converse pulls ad, apologizes for alleged KKK imagery

Nike-owned Converse has pulled an advertisement after critics said it evoked imagery of Black lynchings by the Ku Klux Klan, ABC News reported on Monday. The ad showed a white garment resembling a KKK robe and black sneakers, with some social media users saying the lighting made the sneakers appear suspended as though someone was hanging. Converse said in a statement to ABC News, "We understand why this image is deeply upsetting and recognize that we got this wrong."
