CUPE says gutting Charter rights won't strengthen Canada against Trump
Canada's largest union, CUPE, stated that new federal legislation tabled Monday is a direct attack on Canadians' Charter rights and freedoms and called on the government to halt it. CUPE National President Mark Hancock said gutting workers' rights and protections will not help the government deliver certainty, but the opposite. He added that Canada will not win a trade war or become stronger by stripping away Charter rights.
