Tropical Storm Odalys, located about 1,450 miles west-southwest of Baja California, is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane by mid-week, the National Hurricane Center said.

Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is expected during the next 48 hours, and Odalys is forecast to become a hurricane by mid-week.
