Redeia says Spain–Ceuta power interconnection enters service

Redeia said the mainland Spain–Ceuta power interconnection is fully energized and in service, providing instant backup for Ceuta’s demand. Transmission works finished in December 2025, with the first circuit energized on March 13, 2026; distribution facilities were energized June 30, 2026 and synchronization tests completed July 22; permanent connection completed Aug. 10. Commercial electricity exchange scheduling is set to start Nov. 1 under a decree published June 30, 2026.
