DAX Closes Higher

Frankfurt's DAX 40 extended early gains to close about 1.1% firmer at 25,575 on Monday, supported by lower oil prices and easing bond yields amid hopes of a diplomatic resolution to the Middle East conflict. Sentiment was also lifted by constructive US-China talks ahead of this week’s Trump-Xi summit. The discussions are expected to include AI, which boosted tech giant Infineon Technologies (+4.2%). Other top gainers included Siemens (+3.5%), MTU Aero Engines (+3%), Commerzbank (+2.8%) and Deutsche Post (+2.5%). Meanwhile, traders digested the results of elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Berlin, where parties on the right and left gained ground.
