EU Commission approves Roche Susvimo for wet age-related macular degeneration

European Commission cleared Roche’s Susvimo (ranibizumab) for neovascular age-related macular degeneration in the EU. Approval enables use of the Contivue refillable eye implant, positioned as an alternative to regular anti-VEGF injections. Phase III Archway data showed vision outcomes matched monthly intravitreal ranibizumab, with dosing as few as two refills yearly.
