Coursera names Tom Savage chief legal officer

Coursera appointed Tom Savage as chief legal officer and secretary, effective immediately, as part of a planned leadership change. Savage previously held legal leadership positions at Red Hat, including vice president and general counsel for Red Hat at IBM. Alan Cardenas will transition from leading the legal department but will remain as general counsel until the end of 2026 to assist with the onboarding process.
