Niagen Bioscience cites preclinical study on NR, placental NAD+ and pregnancy outcomes
An independent preclinical study published in Nature Communications showed that oral nicotinamide riboside (NR) or a CD38 inhibitor restored placental NAD+ and improved fetal growth outcomes in aged pregnant mice, according to Niagen Bioscience. Human placental samples from older mothers showed lower NAD+ and NADH levels. Niagen Bioscience did not conduct, fund, or design the study, and the NR used was not its Niagen ingredient.
