Mercantile Investment Trust buys back 500,000 shares

The Mercantile Investment Trust PLC said on Friday it repurchased 500,000 ordinary shares into treasury at 280.79 pence per share. Following the transaction, the company holds 320,467,411 ordinary shares in treasury. The shares in issue less the total number of treasury shares is 624,024,769. The Company will only re-issue shares held in treasury at a premium to net asset value.
