Italy hires banks for 12-year green BTP issue
Italy's Treasury said on Monday it has mandated a pool of banks for the syndicated sale of a new 12-year green BTP bond maturing on October 30, 2038. Barclays Bank Ireland PLC, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo, J.P. Morgan SE and Société Générale Inv. Banking will manage the issuance.
MILAN, Sept 21 (Reuters) — Italy's Treasury said on Monday it had mandated a pool of banks for the syndicated sale of a new 12-year green BTP bond. The new bond matures on October 30, 2038. The transaction will be launched in the near future subject to market conditions, the Treasury said. Green BTPs are Italian government bonds whose proceeds are used to finance state budget measures, including tax incentives and spending, with positive environmental impact, the Treasury said in a statement.
