Dow Surges Over 200 Points; Chicago Fed Activity Index Falls In August

U.S. stocks traded higher this morning, with the Dow Jones index gaining over 200 points on Monday. Following the market opening Monday, the Dow traded up 0.50% to 51,940.52 while the NASDAQ climbed 0.82% to 26,740.27. The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 0.59% to 7,695.90. Leading and Lagging Sectors Communication services shares jumped by 2% on Monday. In trading on Monday, energy stocks fell by 1%. Top Headline The Chicago Fed National Activity Index fell to -0.04 in August versus a revised reading of +0.08 in the previous month.
