Ibovespa Rebounds on Lower Oil Prices

The Ibovespa gained more than 0.5% to trade near 186,500 on Monday, rebounding after closing the prior week in the red amid lower international oil prices. Oil prices declined on hopes for diplomatic progress between the US and Iran. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is expected to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York this week, and US President Donald Trump has said he would be open to meeting him. Bond yields eased as the halt in the oil rally cooled concerns over spreading inflationary pressures from energy costs, lending some support to credit-sensitive shares. Financials posted gains, with Itaú and Bradesco rising more than 1%. Utilities also advanced, with Axia up more than 1%. The financial market lowered its forecast for the Selic rate at the end of 2026 from 13.75% to 13.50%, while raising its inflation forecast for this year from 4.90% to 4.92%, according to the Focus Bulletin released by the BCB.
