Meta, partners launch Petal subsea cable to connect France and US
Meta Platforms Inc. and its partners plan to launch the Petal subsea cable in 2029, which will double capacity between France and the US. The partners include NEC, Sumitomo Electric Industries, and Orange.
Meta said on Sept 21 it is launching the Petal subsea cable with partners NEC, Sumitomo Electric Industries and Orange to connect France and the US. The cable is expected to enter service in 2029 and is described as having petabit capacity, doubling capacity.
