AtkinsRealis JV signs C$1.7 billion contract for Pickering nuclear plant unit refurbishment

AtkinsRealis said its joint venture with Aecon Group signed a C$1.7 billion contract with Ontario Power Generation to refurbish Unit 5 of the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. The three-year contract covers engineering, design, project delivery and program and project management associated with retube, feeder and boiler replacement work. The refurbishment is expected to enable Unit 5 to operate into the 2060s.
