Stansted Airport brings 17.2 MW on-site solar farm online

Stansted Airport has switched on an on-site solar farm, its first at a London airport, as part of its net-zero strategy. More than 24,000 panels can generate up to 17.2 MW DC, equating to 12.8 MW AC supplied into the airport’s network. On the sunniest days, output can match peak airport demand; annual generation is expected to cover the equivalent of 7,000 homes.
