Cuba expands cash supply and opens private exchange house
Cuba released new 10,000- and 20,000-peso bills and authorized its first private currency-exchange house as cash shortages, inflation and a weaker peso strain the economy. Officials say the moves are meant to improve cash supply and make the official exchange rate more transparent.
