China, Hong Kong stocks rise ahead of Trump-Xi summit

Shanghai Composite closed up 1% at 3,949.91; CSI300 up 0.7%; STAR50 up 0.3%. In Hong Kong, Hang Seng rose 1.2% and Hang Seng Tech 0.4%. Tech and property shares led, with gains after US-China talks in New York; US side proposed an AI safety notification mechanism for Sept 23-25.
