Study says Italy needs 840,000 worker homes, €235 billion gap
Investire SGR-backed study projects demand for 840,000 additional homes in Italy’s high-employment areas, implying over 70 million sq m of new residential space and around EUR 235 billion of investment. It forecasts 800,000 home transactions in 2026 with prices up 9.8% year on year, and cites EUR 1.5 billion raised across 14 funds for about 6,500 apartments and 4,000 student beds in long-term, rent-capped housing.
