EWE awards Bilfinger contract for hydrogen treatment facility

EWE awarded Bilfinger a contract to deliver a hydrogen treatment facility for its Huntorf underground hydrogen storage project in Germany. Scope covers engineering, installation, commissioning of a hydrogen drying system using Bilfinger’s H2Dry technology in its first commercial deployment. Project targets start of operations in 2028, supporting conversion of a natural gas salt cavern to about 16 million Nm³ hydrogen working capacity.
