NTT, Cailabs sign space-ground optical communications pact

NTT and Cailabs signed a memorandum of understanding on Sept. 17, 2026, to collaborate on space-to-ground optical communications. The partnership aims to establish direct optical links between satellites, optical ground stations, terrestrial optical networks, and NTT data centers. Plans include integrating NTT's digital coherent transmission and network control into Cailabs' ground stations, with initial phased demonstrations.
