Reinsurers to shun unprofitable growth, eye MGA business: Howden Re exec

Reinsurers will not pursue growth if it is not profitable, while there is significant interest from carriers in accessing the direct market through MGA business, Howden Re's international CEO Massimo Reina told The Insurer. Reina added that sufficient margin remained to achieve price improvements for clients while maintaining profitability, but there was a floor below which business becomes unprofitable.
