TABLE — FOB US cash millfeed prices
CHICAGO, Sept 18 (Reuters) — Cash millfeed prices remained elevated, particularly in western and Midwestern markets, because of strong demand and tighter-than-expected supplies in some regions on Friday, brokers said. Demand from buyers making catfish feed has been strong, as has demand for creep feed for cattle operations, brokers said. Meanwhile, dealers in central U.S. markets were no longer looking to the East Coast to bring in extra feed supplies because freight costs were soaring due to rising fuel prices and fuel surcharges, brokers said. Benchmark Chicago Board of Trade December corn futures settled down 3 cents at $5.27-1/2 a bushel. Corn competes with millfeed for space in livestock feed rations.
