US Futures Inch Higher

US equity futures were marginally higher on Friday, holding the rebound from the previous session as energy prices inched lower and halted the momentum of a worsening macroeconomic backdrop. Contracts for the S&P 500, Dow, and Nasdaq 100 were slightly above the flatline. Treasury yields in the longer end of the curve remained under the multi-decade highs touched earlier in the week as crude oil and product prices held off from stretching their rallies, while a unanimous rate hike by the FOMC tamed recent worries the central bank would be complacent to higher underlying inflation. Alphabet and Meta were 2.5% and 1.5% higher premarket, extending the rebound for AI hyperscalers since benchmark credit costs topped earlier in the week. AI infrastructure shares were also higher, recovering since worries over AI security risks drove markets to reconsider the pace of investment on datacenters and chips. Meanwhile, banks edged lower.
