"The primary objective of monetary policy will still be low and stable inflation," says Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg. While a new regulation is formally adopted, only technical adjustments have been made, implying continuity, the ministry said. The central bank targets core inflation of close to 2% annually over time. "The new regulation will not entail any changes to the conduct of monetary policy," Norges Bank Governor Ida Wolden Bache said in a separate statement.
