U.S. COULD RELEASE MORE OIL FROM SPR Energy Secretary Chris Wright says another round of crude loans from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is a "very real possibility" as higher oil prices and steep futures backwardation boost demand for barrels. The DOE has already loaned more than 130 million barrels from the 172 million-barrel drawdown authorized in March, with roughly 38.5 million barrels still available.
