Participants in Pakistan’s 750,000 ton wheat tender agreeing to match lowest price offers, traders say

HAMBURG, Sept 18 (Reuters) — Trading companies participating in Pakistan’s tender this week to buy and import 750,000 metric tons of wheat have mostly agreed to reduce their offers to match the lowest prices submitted by other trading houses, traders said on Friday The lowest offers submitted in the tender on Wednesday were believed to be $348.83 a ton cost and freight included (c&f) for shipment to the port of Karachi and $352.97 a ton c&f for shipment to the port of Gwadar. Traders on Thursday reported the request from state agency Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) to reduce their offers to match the lowest prices. No purchase has been reported but it is expected that the full tender volume could be bought at the two lowest prices in coming days, traders said. Reports reflect assessments from traders and further estimates of prices and volumes are still possible later.
