Affirm launches transformer-based model for real-time underwriting
Affirm says it is launching a transformer-based machine learning model to support real-time underwriting decisions on each purchase.
For 14 years, Affirm (NASDAQ: AFRM) said it has underwritten every purchase individually and in real time using machine learning models built in-house. The company said that approach is central to what it promises users, with every purchase receiving its own decision based on what a person can responsibly repay.
