EU asks China to limit hybrid car exports to avoid trade row

EU asked China to voluntarily restrict hybrid car exports to reduce risk of a trade war, with Brussels targeting Chinese hybrids sales at around 15% of the EU market, Financial Times reported.

The European Union has asked China to voluntarily curb exports of hybrid cars in an effort to avert a trade war, the Financial Times reported on Thursday. Brussels wants Beijing to limit sales of Chinese hybrid vehicles to around 15% of the EU market, the newspaper said, citing people familiar with the matter.
