UK CPI inflation rises to 3.1% in August

UK CPI increased to 3.1% year-on-year in August from 2.9% in July. ONS said transport, especially motor fuels, provided the largest upward contribution; fuel prices rose 23% year-on-year to August versus 15.5% the prior month.
