SentinelOne Inc (NYSE: S ) shares are trading sharply higher Monday as a market-wide move toward software security, threat defense and artificial intelligence governance lifts cybersecurity names. The rally in cybersecurity software follows weekend remarks led by Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, with backing from Sam Altman and Elon Musk, calling for a voluntary slowdown in frontier model development so safety alignment and system security can be prioritized. Amodei said unchecked model scaling creates severe cybersecurity vulnerabilities and argued that defensive governance and threat-monitoring frameworks need to be fully integrated before the next phase of training begins.

As Wall Street reassesses near-term hardware and data center CapEx, investors are rotating capital into software platforms that secure existing enterprise AI deployments. The push to slow raw model scaling reinforces demand for runtime model protection, agentic AI guardrails and automated threat detection, positioning security providers to benefit from the industry’s shift. SentinelOne’s second-quarter fiscal 2027 update last month showed revenue of $292 million, a 21% increase from a year earlier, and total annualized recurring revenue of about $1.22 billion.

The company said ARR from its AI-native security platforms, including Purple AI and Prompt Security, tripled year over year, while remaining performance obligations climbed 45% to $1.7 billion. Management also pointed to a record 10% adjusted operating margin and lifted full-year fiscal 2027 revenue guidance to $1.202 billion-$1.207 billion. SentinelOne shares were up 14.53% at $22.62 on Monday, according to Pro data.
