European cash markets finished mixed: the Euro Stoxx 50 closed up 0.9 percent, the DAX closed down 0.03 percent, the CAC 40 closed up 0.28 percent and the FTSE 100 closed down 0.18 percent. UK volume leaders were Lloyds Banking Group up 1.88 percent, BP down 0.09 percent, Barclays up 1.94 percent, Shell up 0.51 percent and HSBC up 1.54 percent. continental European volume leaders were UBS up 1.39 percent, Deutsche Telekom up 2.55 percent, SAP down 0.31 percent, Novartis down 0.09 percent and Nestle down 0.26 percent.
