European markets close lower as DAX, CAC and FTSE fall

European cash markets finished lower. The Euro Stoxx 50 closed down 0.67 percent, the DAX closed down 2.49 percent, the CAC 40 closed down 2.42 percent and the FTSE 100 closed down 1.88 percent.
