KOSPI jumps 1.4% as chip sector lifts Seoul trade

In Seoul, the KOSPI surged 1.4%, supported by gains in the heavyweight chip sector. Elsewhere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 0.2% and China’s Shanghai Composite rose 0.3%.
