Amkor to expand Arizona advanced packaging campus with Phase 2
Amkor announced Phase 2 of its Arizona advanced packaging and test campus, adding 60,000 square meters of cleanroom capacity and raising planned investment to about $12 billion. Phase 2 construction starts late 2027 and ends by end-2029.
Amkor announced Phase 2 of its Arizona advanced packaging and test campus, adding 60,000 square meters of cleanroom capacity and raising planned investment to about $12 billion. Customer commitments exceeded the 33,000 square meters of cleanroom capacity planned for Phase 1. With Phase 2, the campus would total about 93,000 square meters of cleanroom space across wafer bump, probe, assembly and test capabilities. Amkor expects construction on Phase 2 to begin in late 2027 and be completed by the end of 2029.
The combined phases are expected to support more than 3,500 Arizona-based employees.
