The company expects to miss its previously issued net sales and earnings guidance as a result. Operational Disruptions And Recovery Efforts The unauthorized activity on certain company systems, detected on Aug. 25, triggered a network outage affecting access to operating systems and business applications.

These system failures hampered the company’s ability to manufacture, process, and ship customer orders. The company said it has not identified evidence of ongoing unauthorized access to its systems, though the investigation remains ongoing. Boston Scientific has not disclosed whether any data was compromised.

Major distribution centers are now processing and shipping customer orders at or above normal operating levels. Furthermore, sterilization facilities and most global manufacturing plants are operational again, although a timeline for complete system restoration remains unknown.
