DAX slips for a second day as oil keeps inflation pressure

The DAX 40 fell for a second session Tuesday, down 0.3% to around 25,930, tracking European peers. Higher oil and gas prices and Middle East hostilities keep inflation worries ahead of the ECB meeting.

Persistently high oil and gas prices and continued hostilities in the Middle East have kept inflation worries elevated ahead of this week’s European Central Bank meeting. The ECB is expected to raise borrowing costs by another 25 basis points this week, which would be the second rate hike this year. Infineon Technologies dropped nearly 3% to be the day’s worst performer after Morgan Stanley cut the stock to "equal weight" from "overweight".
