A planned pipeline network linking Iraq with nearby Turkey and Syria will move more than two million barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil away from the perilous Hormuz Straits. A consortium of Qatari and US companies will execute the project, which will allow Iraq to export nearly 65 percent of its crude oil.
