In currencies, the dollar index is up 0.17 percent, euro dollar is down 0.06 percent, GBP/USD is up 0.04 percent and EUR/GBP is down 0.06 percent.
In oil, WTI crude is at 90.41, down 0.97 percent and Brent crude is at 94.88, down 0.67 percent.
UK volume leaders: BP up 0.19 percent, Barclays up 0.26 percent, Lloyds Banking Group down 0.22 percent, HSBC up 0.29 percent and Shell up 0.06 percent. continental European volume leaders: Novartis down 1.16 percent, UBS up 0.52 percent, Nestle up 0.31 percent, Deutsche Telekom down 0.63 percent and SAP up 1.59 percent.
