South Korea plans a three-stage move to put traditional stocks, bonds and funds onchain starting February 2027, beginning with private funds and unlisted assets, then expanding tokenization to public securities and stablecoin-based near-instant settlement.

The 3-stage plan: · Start with private funds, bonds, unlisted stocks and fractional securities · Expands tokenization to publicly offered securities · Move to stablecoin-based near-instant settlement Existing brokers won't need new licenses, and Koscom has already signed 12 securities firms onto its tokenization platform.
Korea still needs to finalize its stablecoin framework.
