Marvell falls 1.56% as traders trim high-valuation tech
Marvell Technology shares were down 1.56% at $207.11 on Wednesday as investors rotated out of high-valuation growth stocks and broader equity futures weakened.
Marvell Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: MRVL ) stock traded lower on Wednesday, continuing its downward momentum from Tuesday's trading.
The pullback occurred as investors withdrew from high-valuation technology stocks amid broader pressure on growth equities.
Market sentiment weakened further as Nasdaq futures declined 0.10% and the S&P 500 was up 0.08% at the market open.
Marvell stock has gained 225% over the past 12 months.
That sharp rally leaves the equity vulnerable to profit-taking when broader equity futures signal defensive positioning.

Marvell reported better-than-expected second-quarter results on Thursday.
Revenue rose 37% year-over-year to $2.74 billion, topping the $2.71 billion estimate.
Adjusted earnings reached 94 cents per share, beating the forecast of 92 cents per share.
Operating cash flow totaled $605.5 million.
Data center revenue jumped 46% during the quarter, driven by sustained demand across product lines.
Higher Guidance Offset By Margin Outlook For the third quarter, Marvell projects revenue of $3.15 billion, plus or minus 5%, exceeding the $3.03 billion estimate.
The company expects adjusted earnings of $1.10 per share, plus or minus 5 cents, above the $1.07 forecast.
Technical Analysis MRVL is in a longer-term uptrend, but the near-term trend has cooled: the stock is trading 8.4% below both its 20-day and 50-day SMAs, and 3.4% below its 100-day SMA.
It's still holding a wide cushion versus the 200-day SMA (37.4% above), which keeps the bigger-picture trend constructive even as the stock digests gains.
The moving-average structure remains bullish on a higher timeframe, with the 20-day SMA still above the 50-day SMA and the 50-day SMA above the 200-day SMA (the golden cross that formed in October 2025).
The trade-off is that price is currently below those faster averages, so bulls typically want to see a reclaim of the 100-day/50-day area to argue the pullback is ending.
