Nikkei 225 closes down 2.60% after 1,720-point drop
The Nikkei 225 fell 1,720 points, or 2.60%, to close at 64,495 points on Wednesday. Biggest drags included Sumitomo Metal Mining (-11.19%), Kyowa Hakko Kirin (-10.81%) and Mitsubishi Materials (-10.41%).
