Arabica coffee futures near $3/lb on higher Brazil-supply expectations

Arabica coffee futures eased toward $3 per pound, hitting their lowest since late June. Safras & Mercado said Brazil’s 2026/27 harvest is 97% complete as of August 26, supporting higher-supply expectations.

Arabica coffee futures eased toward $3 per pound, reaching their lowest since late June, amid expectations of higher supply from to producer Brazil.

According to Safras & Mercado, the Brazilian harvest for the 2026/27 season was 97% complete as of August 26, with Arabica variety at 96%, with the country heading for a potential record crop.

Rabobank said in a quarterly report that it still expects a “very comfortable” global coffee balance in 2026/27, with a surplus of 8.9 million bags.

However, the bank noted that harvest delays in Brazil and problems stemming from the earthquake in Colombia are keeping Arabica stocks tight for now, with significant replenishment unlikely before November.

Arabica coffee stocks monitored by ICE continued to fall, reaching 223,976 bags by August 31, the lowest level in 27 years.
