India’s BSE Sensex closed virtually unchanged at 76,944 on Tuesday, as traders weighed ongoing foreign fund outflows, geopolitical and global inflation concerns against robust domestic economic data.

Oil prices continued to increase amid renewed fighting between the US and Iran, raising concerns over inflation and the interest rate outlook.

Meanwhile, India's manufacturing sector expansion cooled slightly in August 2026, while the economy beat estimates to grow 7.8% in the quarter through June, ahead of the RBI's projection of 7%.

Selling pressure was more evident in banking, autos and healthcare stocks.
