European cash indexes close mixed; DAX up, CAC and FTSE down

European cash markets finished mixed: the Euro Stoxx 50 closed down 0.71 percent, the DAX closed up 0.31 percent, the CAC 40 closed down 1.68 percent and the FTSE 100 closed down 0.79 percent.

UK volume leaders were Lloyds Banking Group down 2.15 percent, Barclays down 1.39 percent, Shell down 1.78 percent, BP down 1.4 percent and HSBC down 1.2 percent. continental European volume leaders were UBS down 0.23 percent, Nestle down 1.69 percent, Deutsche Telekom down 2.56 percent, Novartis down 2 percent and SAP up 5.48 percent.
