BABA -2% premarket; Alibaba Group Holding Limited has priced a HK$80B equity placement of 710M newly issued ordinary shares at HK$112.70 per share, according to a company statement.
The placement is being offered exclusively to non-U.S. persons outside the United States under Regulation S of the U.S.
Securities Act of 1933.
The transaction is expected to close on August 26, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
Alibaba said it intends to use 100% of the net proceeds to invest in its full-stack AI capabilities, including expanding and enhancing its AI infrastructure.
