SoftBank plans record $6.3B seven-year retail bond sale

SoftBank plans to issue about $6.3B of seven-year retail bonds, aiming for a 4.3%-4.9% coupon and using proceeds for AI investment and refinancing debt.

SOFTBANK PLANS RECORD $6.3B BOND SALE TO FUND AI PUSH SoftBank plans to issue about $6.3B, of seven-year retail bonds, the largest retail bond offering ever by a Japanese company.

The bonds are expected to carry a 4.3%-4.9% coupon, with proceeds going toward AI investments and refinancing existing debt.

SoftBank's cumulative investments and commitments to OpenAI are expected to exceed $60B as the company continues raising capital for its broader AI infrastructure strategy.

The group has also sold its entire NVIDIA stake and increased financing backed by its Arm holdings to help fund the push.
